The Complete Mexico Experience

Mexico is a country as rich in culture as it is vast in scale, so it can be hard to know where to start. Well, we’ve put together a handy eight-day tour that gives you a taste of every facet of Mexico. We’ll start with foodie discoveries and historic sights in the capital, Mexico City, before winding the clocks way back to Mesoamerican times with a visit to the ruins of Teotihuacan. Fall in love with the Unesco-listed architecture of Puebla before escaping to the cacti-filled countryside of Oaxaca. In the city of the same name you’ll learn how to make fresh tortilla and sample locally produced mezcal, before finally seeing the sea at the luxurious beach town of Puerto Escondido. It’s the perfect place to wind down at a stunning coastal resort, fit with its own private sandy beach on the Pacific.

Greek Island Odyssey

Greece is just as rich in ancient history, but is unrivalled when it comes to dreamy summer jaunts. Our nine-day trip embraces both sides of Greek holidaying, starting in Athens, where you’ll have a guided tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon. From there we’ll embark on an island-hopping epic in the Cyclades, first setting sail for Naxos. Bask on barely touched beaches, chat to locals in rural villages and hop on a day trip to the crystalline waters and hidden beaches of Paros. We’ll wrap things up on the sophisticated shores of Santorini, home to one of the world’s most mesmerising sunsets, which we’ll enjoy during an evening picnic with a view.

Train from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy among tea plantations in the highlands of Sri Lanka

Secrets of Sri Lanka by Train

If you’re looking to treat yourself and your favourite travel partner to a holiday like no other, then how about the rolling hills, ancient ruins and scenic coastline of Sri Lanka? Our 10-day Rail Trip is a loop around the island, centring around three transcendentally beautiful train rides. The first takes us from the capital, Colombo, to the Cultural Triangle, where you’ll explore the Unesco-listed ruins of Polonnaruwa and the surreal rock fortress of Sigiriya. The highlight of the trip connects us from Kandy to Ella, as we wind through the island’s luscious tea plantations and rural villages on one of the world’s most famously scenic train journeys. After marvelling at the splendour of central Sri Lanka, you’ll spend a morning spotting elephants in the wild at Udawalawe National Park, before ending up at the pretty coastal city of Galle. You’ll never want to leave this former fort town but, luckily, the train back to Colombo – tracing the west coast – makes it more than worthwhile.

KEEN TO EXPLORE THE WORLD?

Connect with like-minded people on our premium trips curated by local insiders and with care for the world

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
